1983Cyfac's story began 25 years ago with its founder Francis Quillon. A former French National Team member and perennial winner of cobbled classics, Francis' true passion was for the equipment carrying him across the slick pavé and wind-blown lanes of his native Tourraine region. Nestled in the wooded Loire Valley, Francis began Cyfac with his wife, Mireille. Cyfac began by making frames for local riders. Soon, Cyfacs were adopted by local pros who coveted the made-to-measure build and growing reputation for quality and fit. By the mid 1980's, Cyfac was the "framebuilder to the stars", making a large portion of the team bikes riders actually rode. Covered with sponsor logos, these Cyfacs were steel creations designed for classic racing and grand tour events.

As Cyfac grew, Francis constantly pushed the boundaries of frame design and materials. He was the first to TIG-weld aluminum frames, making the first lightweight aluminum frames for Claudio Chiapucci and Marco Pantani among others. As the first European titanium builder, Cyfac offered a growing list of options, including the world's only full-custom alu superbike design (since outlawed by the UCI). Cyfac's avant-garde efforts culminated in the first full-custom, full-carbon lug-less frameset, the Tigre. The revolutionary Cyfac carbon-stratification process brought old-world hand-craftsmanship together with 21st century technologies. Using aerospace grade carbon and resins that most manufacturers avoid due to costs, Cyfac's focus is on quality in both the manufacturing and finish processes. We put the finish line before the bottom line to ensure your fit, enjoyment, and lasting performance of each Cyfac frame.
Allez-y! Bon courage!
