FIT OVERVIEW
The Cyfac Postural System takes 9 key measurements along with key rider information to determine your optimal cycling position and ideal frame design (to realize the position). Based on a rider's anthropometric body measurements (accurately taken via the CPS fit cabine and its magnetized, calibrated, and precision crafted fit components), the CPS method then considers the following:

-AGE
-GENDER
-WEIGHT
-RIDING DISCIPLINE
-YEARLY KILOMETERS
-PERIPHERAL EQUIPEMENT USED. We have measured the shoe and pedal characteristic of hundreds of models to understand what YOU are using. We measure the proportions, deflection characteristics and compression rate of all saddles to know just how it's going to perform beneath YOU.

An ergonomics of CONCEPTION is key to this approach. By starting with the individual sans bike, we are eliminating the typical desire to see how a rider is currently set-up and then modify from that starting point. The CPS method conceives the rider's position from scratch. Taking the unique athlete with his/her individual characteristics and analyzing these through the microscope of physiological and ergonomic function is cutting edge. The CPS method works through the same mathematical and information technology processes found in the medical diagnostic and scientific arenas to result in a position of unparalled accuracy and a fit that is optimal for the individual.

Alternatively, proceeding via the standard CORRECTIVE approach presents risks as there is no prescribed adaptation time to the changes, there is no accounting of how the ENTIRE rider functions as a system, and there is little to no criteria to determine the need for and efficacy of making position changes.

We have over 8 years of lab studies across a base of more than 4500 categorized riders across all cycling disciplines and performance levels. Our independently conducted research carefully monitored all physiological responses to cycling across road, track, time trial, triathlon, cross, and mountain bike disciplines. We tested world class, top level amateur, club racer, and tourist athletes for muscular endurance, VO2Max, optimal power output, optimal cadence, optimal oxygen uptake, respiratory rate, blood-lactate, and aerodynamics across a set of exhaustive test protocols to arrive at our data. We have even looked at the response rate of secondary and tertiary muscles to determine optimal fit data that can be applied directly to you, the rider.

To determine optimal position some coaches/fit people look at aerodynamics as an indication of performance. Some look at sustained power output. Some look at a rider on a bike and simply follow what they think is correct. The problem with these approaches is that they take a studied look at one or two variables affecting performance OR they take a completely "gut" accounting of the rider and how he/she looks on a bike to guess at positioning. The key to proper fit is approaching each unique rider and the comprehensive

In researching the rider-bike pair we've discovered that the proper position is paramount and whether you choose to apply it to your current bike, go shopping for a new standard geometry offering, or use it as the blueprint for YOUR custom frameset doesn't matter to us. Ensuring that our CPS clients ride in comfort while optimizing health and performance is our only goal with the CPS.

We guarantee our fit to deliver you the best performance for whatever type of riding you do.

CPS EXPERTS

The CPS fit session:

STEP 1:Begins with an interview to gain your personal details including age, sex, weight, cycling discipline, yearly mileage, etc.

STEP 2: This is follwed by notation of your peripheral equipment including pedal make/model, saddle make/model, shoe make/model. This information can be updated should any of this equipment change in order to get an updated fit.

STEP 3: The next step is a top-to-bottom full body analysis to determine your morphology and anthropometric body measurements.

STEP 4: All data points are submitted through the Cyfac Expert website, results are immediately generated and printed for review or saved out as a PDF file.

STEP 5:The Cyfac Expert details the CPS results and can assist in proper bike set up via the Palmer positioning tool included with the CPS. We provide positions to the millimeter and have the tool to realize this on the bike itself.

STEP 6:The Cyfac Expert provides the client with full CPS study results along with a copy of the Cyfac Ergonomic Manual.

NOTE:
Once a rider is in our database, a new fit for a different cycling discipline (road, mtb, time trial, triathlon, cross), changes to equipment, dramatic changes to fitness level, etc. can be easily accomplished without the rider needing to do a separate fit. Your body measurements are already captured and the rest can be updated by the dealer provided to the rider.
